What is a Clinical Trial?

Participating in a clinical trial is important for the research of investigational treatments for medical conditions. We at Pivotal Research Centers work with pharmaceutical companies to study these investigational medications. Only after Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval can your physician prescribe the medication. Pivotal Research depends on study volunteers like you to participate in these important research programs.

What happens during a clinical trial?

Your participation begins with the informed consent. This form is reviewed by an independent ethics board to ensure its accuracy and compliance with ethical standards. Each study participant reads the informed consent describing the clinical trial. It includes information about the potential benefits as well as potential risks of study participation. At that time your questions will be answered by a Pivotal Research study expert. Once enrolled in a study, you will have your vital signs taken, a physical examination, usually an EKG, and any other necessary tests required by the study. Once all qualifications are met, you are given the study medication we are investigating. There is no cost for these services and you may receive compensation for participation, once you have entered into a study.
